Erwin McManus is Explorer and Advisor of The Awaken Group, a global leadership development consulting firm with expertise in aligning people to strategy to drive innovation and creativity by unleashing the maximum potential of organizations. He is committed to creating environments that expand imagination, unleash creativity, and maximize the creative potential in every individual and organization.
Erwin is also an author, speaker, activist, filmmaker and innovator who specializes in the field of developing and unleashing personal and organizational creativity, uniqueness, innovation and diversity. In other words, he gets bored really easily.
Engaging such issues as culture, change, creativity and leadership, Erwin is widely known as a thought-provoking communicator. He is frequently sought after for his expertise in innovation, creativity, and character and has spoken in over 30 countries to over a million people from a wide variety of audiences. Some of the organizations he has consulted with include the NFL, Golf Inc., California Builders Association, NYU, Columbia University, Chick-Fil-A, Athletes’ Performance, and New Line Cinema. His work is also featured in numerous films, articles, and magazines across the US and internationally.
Erwin is also the founder and catalyst behind the non-profit company, Awaken Humanity. Convinced that the world is changed by dreamers and visionaries, Awaken Humanity serves the purpose of history by maximizing the divine potential in every human being.
He serves as the leader and cultural architect of Mosaic, a community of faith in Los Angeles that has influence across the city and worldwide through the Mosaic Alliance and The Origins Network. He also serves as a Research Advisor with The Gallup Organization, and is a member of the TED organization.
He has authored numerous books including An Unstoppable Force, a Gold Medallion Award finalist; Chasing Daylight; Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul; The Barbarian Way; Stand Against the Wind, Soul Cravings, and Wide Awake.
Erwin is a native of El Salvador, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Southwestern Theological Seminary. He and his wife Kim live in Los Angeles have two children, Aaron and Mariah, and a foster daughter Paty.
